Home Again

This narrow site, once home to a 1910 Villa damaged by the Christchurch earthquakes, now proudly presents its new structure.

Thoughtfully designed to allow for the narrow section and recession planes the new residence also pays tribute to the original Villa’s footprint allowing the existing gardens to be saved.

The home is entered via a bespoke copper front door partnered by a smaller copper door dedicated to the Guest Suite.

Cedar ceilings and interior Cerrano walls bring the outside in and steel framed interior sliding doors enhance this continuity of design.

The indoor-outdoor Kiwi lifestyle has been perfectly captured with continuous floor levels from both the living area and formal lounge, out onto the deck and then to the swimming pool.

The external cavity slider in the formal lounge allows this room to open fully to maximise the opportunities to enjoy this indoor/outdoor space and the soffit heater let’s you stay outside longer than Mother Nature intended.

An illuminated staircase takes you to the upper level with the main bedroom boasting its own private balcony.  Two large bedrooms and a bathroom complete the upstairs area.

With handmade furnishings by Montreux Furniture throughout, its easy to see why this home is so loved.  The Guest ensuite mirror on its own, is enough to make you want to stay for a long time.
